Winner 2012 Tasmanian Tourism Awards

Austrips Wins 2012 Tasmanian Tourism Awards

Austrips recently claimed top honors at the 2012 Tasmanian Tourism Awards. The awards are coordinated on behalf of the Tasmanian tourism industry by the Tourism Industry Council of Tasmania and aim to encourage and celebrate creativity and innovation while providing a benchmark for best practice in tourism.

Awards winners were announced November 9, 2012 at the Tasmanian Tourism Awards Gala Dinner, held at Wrest Point Convention Centre in Hobart.

The 2012 Tasmanian Tourism Award winners were selected by a panel of 24 judges with experience in the Tasmanian tourism and related industries. An impressive field of 93 finalists across 28 categories made up the competition. Entries for the Tasmanian Tourism Awards are open to all tourism businesses and individuals operating in Tasmania.

Tasmanian winners go on to represent the State at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, to be held in February at the Princes Wharf Shed No 1 in Hobart. This process allows star Tasmanian tourism products to gain national recognition.

Trans Tasman Packard Car Rally

The Packard Car Club of Australia has recently finished their 12 day rally of Tasmania and were lucky enough to be joined by three vary rare Packard’s from New Zealand. The cars were shipped out a week prior to the start of the tour and I’m pleased to say the process of getting them through customs and quarantine was seamless. Much of this was due to good research and the help of our local shipping agents – Total Care Logistics.

All participants had a wonderful time and the general consensus was that its been one of the best rally’s to date. This was due, in a large part, the organisational skills of Austrips. Many comments were made about how nice it was “not having to worry about organising anything” All the participants had to do was follow the detailed drivers notes and have fun!
